A 30% of the available 7000 places in this year’s Great Midlands Fun Run, [Sunday, 4 June], along the streets of Royal Sutton Coldfield & through Sutton Park, have been snapped up in the first three weeks of registration.
With half-term coming to an end in the Birmingham area, those on holiday have a great opportunity to complete their registration to guarantee their place on the start line in just over three months.
Event Director, Tracey Spare said: ‘It’s been an encouraging start to registration and as always I want urge those who intend to participate to get their registration in early to secure their place.
“Streetly Academy, who are supporting Birmingham Children’s Hospital & Ronald McDonald House Birmingham this year – two charities close to the hearts of the students, teaching staff and parents – has started the anticipated large number of school entries which will include teams from Arthur Terry, Sutton Coldfield Grammar School for Girls; Plantsbrook School; Highclare & staff from Fairfax.”
Tracey added: “We always have people who leave submitting their entry until it’s too late. Although we have set a calendar closing date of Friday 24th March, if all of the 7000 places have been booked by then, registration will close as that is the maximum number of entrants we can accept.”
