Boldmere Bullets all fired up to help Acorns Hospice
One of the first teams to register for this year’s 18th Great Midlands Fun Run is Boldmere Bullets Running Collective.
Some of its team arrived on the opening day at Cookes Furniture to register after completing the Sutton Park parkrun with others registering online via the ‘Register Now’ link on www.greatmidlandsfunrun.org
Lisa Wilson, Boldmere Bullets Run Director said: “The Great Midlands Fun Run is such a great event to have on our doorstep and we fully anticipate having at least 100 team members participating wearing their distinctive orange and black tops.
“We’ll also have a strong contingent, including some from our cycling arm, manning the drinks stage at Town Gate, handing out much needed water.”
The Boldmere Bullets’ running and cycling collectives have raised over £101,000 for various local charities since 2015 and last year decided to take a break from official fundraising.
Lisa added: “Last year we collectively felt we needed to recharge our ‘fundraising batteries’. Many of our members have become aware of the financial plight of Acorns Hospice in Walsall, so when we were deciding which charity to adopt this year, it didn’t take long to reach a decision to support our local children’s hospice.
“The Fun Run will be just one of a number of events throughout the year which members will be participating in to help boost our fundraising for Acorns.”
